Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Method

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions and reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, careful not to burn the garlic.

  4. Add the grated Parmesan cheese, mix well and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and additional cheese if desired.
