Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 large eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 cups diced cooked ham
  • 2 cups cheese (combination of Swiss and sharp Cheddar)
  • 1 (9-inch) frozen deep dish pie crust (ready to bake)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake unwrapped frozen pie crust on a baking sheet for 10 minutes. Let cool slightly.
  2. Melt butter in a nonstick pan over medium-high heat. Add onion and cook until tender. Add garlic and stir until fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk eggs, half-and-half, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stir in diced ham and both cheeses along with the cooked onion.
  5. Carefully pour the filling into the pie crust, being careful not to overfill.
  6. Bake for 35-42 minutes or until the quiche is set and lightly jiggly in the center. Serve warm or at room temperature.
