  • 1 tablespoon low sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 16 ounces extra firm tofu
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 3 tablespoons gluten free breadcrumbs
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 1/3 cup low sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).n2. Drain the excess liquid from the tofu and pat it dry with a towel. Cut into 1-inch cubes.n3. Toss the cubed tofu with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce in a large bowl.n4. Mix in cornstarch and breadcrumbs until evenly coated.n5. Place tofu on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.n6. For the sauce, mince the garlic and sauté it in avocado oil for 2-3 minutes in a saucepan until lightly browned.n7. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil to the pan and stir well.n8. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch with water, then add to the pan, cooking until the sauce thickens (3-5 minutes).n9. Once the tofu is done, toss it in the sauce and serve over rice or enjoy with steamed vegetables! Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
