  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Prepare a large bowl to pour your popped kettle corn into.
  2. In a large, heavy-bottomed pot, add the vegetable oil and 2-3 popcorn kernels. Heat over medium-high heat until the test kernels pop.
  3. Once popped, add the remaining popcorn kernels and sugar, shaking the pot to combine.
  4. Cover with the lid slightly ajar to allow steam to escape and shake the pot every few seconds.
  5. When the popping slows down to about 2 seconds between pops, remove the pot from heat.
  6. Immediately transfer the kettle corn into your prepared bowl, sprinkle with salt, and allow to cool before serving. Enjoy!
