Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 18 medium black olives
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 4 tbsp dark soy sauce

Method

  1. To hard boil the eggs, place them in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook for 12 minutes, then turn off the heat and let sit for another 5-10 minutes.
  2. Transfer eggs to an ice bath for 10 minutes, then peel the eggs carefully.
  3. Slice each egg in half lengthwise and place the yolks in a bowl.
  4. Mash the egg yolks with mayonnaise, yellow mustard, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and paprika until creamy. Adjust the consistency with more mayonnaise if desired.
  5. Fill each egg white half with the yolk mixture using a spoon.
  6. For the spiders, cut 12 olives in half. Place one half on top of each filled egg to represent the body.
  7. Slice the remaining olive halves into strips for spider legs, placing 3-4 each side of the body.
  8. Arrange all the decorated eggs on a serving platter and chill until ready to serve.
